Gimp 2.8.22 available

#1 Post by don570 »

I compiled Gimp 2.8.14 for various distros 32bit and 64 bit

EDIT : version 2.8.22 June 2017 is available for Precise puppy

Here is a June 2017 version compiled in precise puppy 3.7.1 , however it should work in many
recent puppies such as tahr slacko tooppy linux
ReadMe is inside package. Remember that G'mic plug-ins require fftw package to be installed!!
Python is disabled so it can't open ORA files.

File: gimp-precise-2.8.22.tar.gz
Size: 31.25 MB
http://www.datafilehost.com/d/8d4cdba8

It can use python 2.7.8 to open ORA format of mypaint.
Note that gmic plugin requires fftw 3.3 dependency.

April64 which is 64 bit distro by Barry Kauler.
It was compiled so it can use python and the gmic plugins.

Available: 64 bit version for April64

Here is 32 bit April version

This is a version compiled in wheezy puppy
Pupjibaro Wheezy 1.0.6 beta

File: gimp-wheezy-2.8.14.tar.gz
Size: 19 MB

To save in the ORA file format you must install python .

To install GMIC plugin package v1.6.0(see image), there are two more packages that
MUST be installed.

http://www.datafilehost.com/d/781d5243
File: fftw-64bit-3.3.4.pet
Size: 1.18 MB

http://www.datafilehost.com/d/275aabb2
File: gmic-64bit.pet
Size: 2.64 MB

The menu item is located at bottom of filters.
To check if gmic is loaded properly you can launch gimp from console
to see if there are any complaints about gmic not loading fftw.

I forgot to include babl and gegl in the wheezy package.
I was only able to get an old version of gmic to work with wheezy.

Fixed

Thank you for this package, Don.

Working fine and dandy here on Precise 5.7.1 Retro. Probably just my imagination, but even seems to open and render things a bit snappier than the version (2.8.10 IIRC) that I had been previously using (not that it was by any means slow).

Good stuff! 8)

Gimp 2.8.22 - Precise

It works on Raring distro as well. various Slacko 32 bit were tested

It doesn't work on Rolx distro because Rolx is related to Wary distro which
is too old.
