Problem with devx_202.sfs on HD install

#1 Post by HappyPuppyUser »

Trying to install the devx squash filesystem version 2.0.2 on a HD install
I belive I have tried everything :
1) Putting the file in /mnt/home under the default name (devx_202.sfs)
2)Putting the file in /mnt/home under the name (usr_devx.sfs)
3)and the same as above in /
(no effect after reboot)
4)mounting devx_202.sfs with loopback (Invalid argument) (I have also tried creating a new loop in /dev wich worked as far as a new loop... and losetup /dev/loop5 /mnt/home/dev_202.sfs worked just fine but when
mount -o loop -t squashfs /dev/loop5 /mnt/data gives : Invalid argument.

I belive to have tried most of the other solutions presented on the forum ...
and I would much appriciate (sp?) any help on this subject as I am a sc. n00b

ok ... more info : mount -t squashfs /dev/loop5 /mnt/devel gives output:
SQUASHFS error: Major/Minor mismatch, trying to mount newer 51088.16400 filesystem

SQUASHFS error: Please update your kernel
mount: Mounting /dev/loop5 /mnt/devel failed: Invalid argument...
Help anyone...?

If you have a harddrive #2 install, check this out.

Good Luck, Kal
PS: Tried it on Puppy 2.02 and it still works.
