Subject description: I've lost my save-file icon.....how do I retrieve it?

Morning, all.

I've done a silly thing. Amongst other 'Pups', I'm running Slacko 570 here. I decided to try to the current release of Simplicity this morning; 15.1 FINAL. I didn't realise that it was based on Slacko 5.7...come to that, I didn't know there was a difference between 5.7 and 5.7.0. Anyways, it picked up on my 570 save-file, loaded that, and asked me some questions about did I want to use the save-file, run in RAM only for the session, or did I want to 'upgrade'(?)

I must have made the wrong choice, as I ended up with my 570 desktop overlaid with bits of the Simplicity one.....which I understand is itself based on LXPup..! I've just finished re-setting my desktop back to how it was, but I've noticed that I seem to have 'lost' the icon for my save-file.

Where in the system can I find it...so I can return it to the desktop? ANY advice would be much appreciated...

Thanks!

Regards,

Mike. Smile

Hello, Mike.

The original desktop icons for your Puppy are at
/initrd/pup_ro2/usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps.

You should have a save48.png and a save24.png icon in there.
Copy them to /usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps.

Then go back to your desktop and hover your mouse over the save icon
on the desktop. It should show up correctly right away just by hovering
your mouse over it.

I hope this helps.

BFN.

@Musher0:-

Thank you very much for that; it's worked nicely. Needless to say, after less than a year, I'm still getting used to Puppy's rather unique filesystem!

Appreciated.

Regards,

Mike.
