Software Wallpaper Creator
Software Wallpaper Creator
I've downloaded a Windows software for creating desktop wallpapers.
mdwpcrelease dot exe is the freeware conversion software.

Will update the progress at a later time.

Might give an update for the old webpage, sourceforge doesn't give their own installers/downloaders these days .. or maybe they never did give installers/downloaders to begin with as far as I could remember. On the other hand CNET does give it's own installer/downloader which installs malware , adware and other harmfull stuff. Could anyone could confirm this about SF who uses microsoft's windows ?Semme wrote:Keep in mind this page is over a year old.

Creating desktop wallpapers for Puppy is simple.
No need for any software to do it.
Just find an image file you want to use as the desktop wallpaper and place it in /usr/share/backgrounds.
Run Pwallpaper and choose the image from the list.
If you want to edit the image use MtPaint.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)

I do this:greengeek wrote:Keyboard - where do you get your avatars? I like them.
1) take a selfie , or a picture of maybe your dog ?
2) crop with mtPaint (the required size is 256 px in height and width probably..) . It is very easy to crop with it.
3) use gimp if you want to add some effects change maybe hue or whatever that might suit.
4) upload in the forum
5) finished.
CNET Downloads
Anyone doesn't want to go against the grain for small reason but must pass along that most of my valuable software has come via the CNET Download channel over some years. Valuable tools for me.bark_bark_bark wrote:Pro Tip: Never download software from CNET.
This was all pre-Linux but as far as hanging onto Windows they're worth some of the effort. I'm hardly ever in Windows nowadays but if Linux had matching comparable software I'd use those instead. I consider having been overrun with tire treads of Windows far worse.

Yes, maybe I forgot where leaving off with this issue but still can't get Linux to give me the wallpaper results desired. I don't know the secret to whatever file format it likes best. If I just knew what that was I might be able to take care of myself in this regard. The Puppy Precise softwares just don't work with my CorelDRAW exported JPG files and that's my primary graphics suite. Really forgot where I left off on this one.bigpup wrote:Creating desktop wallpapers for Puppy is simple.

All I know is that I want my own wallpaper and just simply don't understand either the size requirements or export routine. One day I'll find out and report back. Any graphics program should be able to export a file type of some kind that will work but what I get are fuzzy and unusable images unlike any wallpapers seen on the Internet for Linux. Gary
I have seen offers to download other softwares from CNET but ignore them and press on. Not too many troubles. Maybe--yet? Oh, just saw your post here, Semme. Let me figure out what we're doing first. GarySemme wrote:Gzip and upload one onto the forum.
Although I'm a big graphics user will have to interpret as not a big PhPBB forum user. Will look for upload features.heraldry.mysite.com First image, top left.

CorelDRAW and Puppy Linux
I am very happy to report that I'm using CorelDRAW8 with Puppy Precise Linux all by itself and most features work reliably. Gary
Will have a look. GarySemme wrote:Gary, how are you doing this? >> http://www.webreference.com/graphics/corel101/9/8.html

As for my previous post, what file extension are your images and how have you been exporting them for Linux to use?
