why does it say fake.qz? I'm downloading it now but not sure what I'm supposed to do with it. I'll try to figure it out once it downloads.

Has anybody else cracked it? Download. Then convert the fake (dot) .gz to (dot).txt. A https download location will then be visible in a text editor.

As was mentioned in the EmSee-Tahr thread,
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=846366#846366

was unable to create a savefile as well so I just created an empty "vividsave" folder in the frugal directory with the vmlinuz, initrd and sfs files.....saving now.

Thanks @james.c

I will look into the savefile misfunction. Another way around it, apart from creating a folder named vividsave in the boot directory would be to load stemsees-remastering-suite and option 7a create savefile. Such options will soon be added to simple-remaster utilities. Another option is to install shinobar's solution.

I think the problem with megasync links is the '!' inside, which breaks the url bbcode on this forum. I don't think there's a way around it. ETP redirected through tinyurl to bypass the '!' altogether.

Swift. Nice effort

This could benefit with @01Micko's SAMBA V4 utility (Only 12MB distro impact, but benefit is obvious in a distro of this caliber)

Hi Stemsee.

Such a remaster would be a bit involved for a newcomer, don't you think?

In any case, I provided a ready-made solution here, for the other incarnation
of your puplet. Once that zip archive is fully unzipped in Emsee-Vivid's
home folder, just rename to vividsave-arf.2fs and reboot.

BFN.

Thanks Musher0 for providing the pre-made savefile. Maybe ... The remastering suite is a bit of a sprawling mess.

I don't know about your suite, I didn't try it. It may be a geat piece of code.
But anytime I hear the word "remaster", I think "complicated". Now imagine
what a newbie will think...

Anyway, no sweat. My pleasure.
