How to add Whisker menu to XFCE4?

Howdy, all! Long time no talk to...
I installed the Whisker menu for XFCE4 from
here thanks to Geoffrey. I'll figure out how to change the 'Slacko' comment later on.
But I can't get it to run...can't find anywhere, right clicking or otherwise, on the panel that allows me to select it and run it.
I can choose a custom menu option by right clicking on the menu and picking custom menu, but no whisker.
Ideas?
This is on a recent version of DPUP, XFCE4 added after the fact and runs great (as long s I don't run the compositor), frugal install on a multiboot flash drive.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this.[/url]

Hi, you would be better to try rg66 build from here
http://www.smokey01.com/rg66/X-slacko/p ... -X-slacko/
You'll find whisker by right clicking the Panel > panel > Add New Items > Whisker Menu
Edit /usr/lib/xfce4/panel/plugins/libwhiskermenu.so
To change the X-Slacko heading you will need to use an hex editor as it's hard coded, it looks like this
<b><big><big><big><span color='#235089'>X-slacko</span></big></big></big></b>
you need to replace it character for character.
If you remove the <span color='#235089'> </span> it will then use the system color
Don't make the displayed text to long else it will push the menu off screen
<b><big><big><big><big><big>xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</big></big></big></big></big></b>
I use madedit hex editor
http://smokey01.com/carolina/pet_packag ... 9-i486.pet
If you find it to difficult to do I can edit it for you, just ask, hope this was of some help to you..

Nope, no Whisker.
I clicked and downloaded and ran the pet package as usual.
I right clicked, add item, scrolled through list then, to demonstrate, ran search, no whisker.
Ideas?
Missing a library or something?

What version of xfce panel, I think rg66 compiled whisker while running xfce 4.10, it works with 4.12 also.

Gee, that's old, I'm not sure what you can do, I'll have a look around, do you have a link to the DPUP ISO, I'll take a look at that too.

Probably just easier to do a newer xfce4. Got a link for the newer 4.10?

I had a look about, it's looking dismal, would be a lot of work with all the dependencies needed, I tried installing the debs for 4.10 from debian jessie but that didn't work, maybe someone else has a clue?
