What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

No touchpad detection in Acer 4741z (tahrpup 6.0.2) ?

#1 Post by keyboard »

Hello,

I was demonstrating on how to use puppy Linux to someone , he has a Acer 4741z laptop, in the first run, the mouse didn't worked, we followed the instructions of selecting different types of mouse but neither did work. I was using tahrpup 6.0.2 at that time. I don't have the laptop now (as it was his laptop) so I can not give much details more than the model number. please if someone know this model , help me on how could I resolve this problem. So in the next meeting I could give him a well installed puppy linux laptop.

The installation is frugal installation over a pendrive(vfat filesystem)

If you are talking about the touchpad.
Are you sure it was turned on by the hot key that turns touchpad on or off?
Should be a key to turn touchpad on/off

I assume you used the menu->Setup->Mouse/keyboard Wizard->Touchpad

If using an external mouse.
The touchpad on or off may apply.
Maybe a bios setting :idea:
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected :shock:
YaPI(any iso installer)
