I have just transitioned from tahr32 to bionic64. Running from USB with savefolder.
With previous version of puppy I used to get a splash screen and options (F2 etc) at startup which allowed for some 'intervention' on startup in various circumstances.
I don't see to have the same function with bionic64. Does it exist, or am I just missing it?
Thanks in advance.
Bionic64 - where are the startup options?
How did you actually do the install to USB?
Specific details.
I am guessing, you are booting and seeing a menu, listing several ways to boot.
That took the place of pressing f2 and entering optional commands.
The different entries use those different option commands.
If you are not seeing this boot menu.
What are you seeing as you boot?
After I know what for sure you are seeing and is actually controlling the booting. I can give more specific info.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

Thanks for the assist.
I did the usual and downloaded the ISO file, burnt to CD and booted.
I then did the usual frugal install to USB using the "Universal Installer".
I have not previously been using grub for booting, so chose not to install that piece.
I chose to use the savefolder instead of the old style savefile
Everything worked as expected and I have a working system - but just don't have the usual 'pre-boot' pause for options like I am used to.
I realize I could add grub to give me a boot menu if I choose to; but actually would just prefer the previous splash screen and 'press F2' option.

The Universal Installer, puts a boot loader, with a basic boot loader config file, on a USB flash drive install.
It just goes into a normal boot and that is it.
