It contains mtools and p7zip all in one. It seems to work in a live of slacko 5.7, precise 5.7.1, tahr 6.02 (and obviously wary). It has not a menu entry: open a console and type:

Code:
unetbootin installtype=USB targetdrive=/dev/sdxy

where sdxy is the usb stick where you want to install to an iso.

The listed web site says it's "down for maintenance".

Ed: Just followed some links and copy.com is gone for good.

Does anyone have a copy of this unetbootin-608-w5.pet file?

The site is up now.
Thanks

New unetbootin-625-x86.pet available built with mtools 4.0.18 and p7zip 15.14.1. It works for me. Report your testing:

For 64 bit puppies consider unetbootin-linux64-613.pet:

Building version 625 of unetbootin throws in console a warning about libicui which I was not able to solve.

Hi all,

I don't need unetbootin to get Puppies or debiandogs onto a USB-stick. But, until now to do a easy and quick --well not so quick-- burn of another Distro I've been booting into Windows and running LinuxLIveUSB Creator,

Now I no longer have to. Very Happy

I just built an SFS for Tahrpup64. Worked fine burning pclinuxos to a USB-stick with one wrinkle. The part of Unetbootin's GUI for selecting an already downloaded ISO couldn't get passed /root. The option "computer" was greyed-out.

Easy work-around. Just symlink /mnt to /root. Thought I'd mention it if any one else hasn't.

Two other things to keep in mind. Unetbootin requires that the USB-stick already be formatted as Fat32. And, although it will remind you if you forget --in contradiction to my previous experience working with USB-stick burning software-- the USB-Stick must also be mounted.

I have not the warning about icui18n launching later versions of unetbootin extracted from the deb packages at:

I didn't get that warning from an SFS I build in Xenialpup64 just using its PPM --download all dependencies-- and PaDs (in the later using the unrpm-all.pet on the PaDS thread). But, as previously noted, a symlink from /root was necessary to access the folder holding the ISO.

The warning about icui is thrown out using the binaries files from the main unetbootin site. The ubuntu unetbootin PPA rep has more recent versions of unetbootin.
