Updating Slacko Package Manager
I tried doing this once and it kept asking to download a bunch of different files, including the same files several times. I finally quit during the 5 or 6th file, but it seems really weird it was doing that. Shouldn't it just download 1 file? By the way, I just used the update button in the Package...

Yes, that Saudi ambassador story was sketchy, but they are not planning an invasion because the US does not have the military capabilities to invade a country with a population a quarter the size of the US with mountains and other unfavorable conditions. At most it would be a massive bombing of Iran...

Actually I take that back. Tetris seems to be running fine (I just remembered it was one of the games that was crashing) but now I'm having problems with Same Gnome (in full screen mode, haven't tried it recently in a window). It sometimes (but not all the time) crashes the OS (at the end of a game)...

Which versions of the packages should I install?
I've noticed a lot of the software available comes in different packages (besides newer versions with higher numbers). As far as I could figure this out (and I may be totally wrong because documentation on this seems to be lacking or I may be, quite possibly, looking in the wrong places): DEV - I gu...

How to install Puppeee without USB CD player? Possible?
I have tried booting it up on my "normal" laptop and it won't boot. I would like to install it to sD card for use on my eeeC. I do have access to both computers, both of which have sD card slots as well ethernet cable connectors so they could theoretically be connected. The big one has a C...

It was a full installation of Lucid. I eventually erased it and replaced it with Slacko. Slacko seems stabler in that respect, the battery ran out, I just booted it (automatically had to boot twice), but it didn't get to the cursor. It did get to the cursor on the Slacko when I messed up something w...

Gnome games with Slacko 5.3.1
Same Gnome works fine, but the 4 in a row game closes as soon as I lay down the first piece, another one of the games (I forget which) does something similar.

Lucid Puppy 5.2.8 bug - won't boot
What happened is this: I let the battery run out. Then when I plugged in the AC adaptor, instead of booting it just showed "#" with a cursor. Windows partition worked fine, no problems. Not a Grub error because I reinstalled the Grub and it still did not work. No problem after reinstalling...

I appreciate your trying to help by posting the codes, but I really don't know what to do, and I am really a beginner, I don't even know how to use MS-DOS, so your answers are pretty much off-topic here. I would appreciate it if someone would just tell me how to use the included program to make the ...

Yes, I have indeed made a full install. The point was I can't get to it, if I want to run Puppy I still do it from the CD, which in fact means I am not running the one on the HD at all. I was simply looking for an easier tutorial for doing the dual boot grub, there's a few around but they seem to mi...

Yes, I created a partition for it, and I put Puppy on it. I also made a swap partition. I was thinking about the frugal install, but I wanted it to run faster, so I made the partitions instead. Windows works fine, and loads up every time. Puppy boots from CD only because there is no GRUB or Lilo to ...

Thanks, but I already looked into this before I posted here, and the autoexec.bat method seemed more interesting because I could not find the config.sys file. I don't know if it's supposed to be there in Windows 98, but if it is, a friend of mine must have wiped it out when he got rid of this bug at...

I'm doing the same on a Toshiba Pentium I 96mb RAM, I've already done the partitions and installed Puppy, but I don't know how to go about this further. I don't care if I use GRUB, or Lilo or autoexec.bat , I just want the easiest way to make it dual boot so I can choose between Puppy and Windows 98...
