HIghlight some text, Backspace deletes the remaining text.
One really annoying thing I've noticed, actually for a long time, that when I highlight a certain text, for example in a search box, with the intent of deleting a particular piece of text, sometimes, say 20 or 30% of the time, it deletes the part of the text that I haven't highlighted. This is the o...

Re: Slax kde is better, sure !
If Puppy becomes like Ubuntu, this version would be long gone from the repository.Pelo wrote:.If Puppy becomes an UBUNTU (or Kubuntu) repository, i will be a so lonesome guy.

Re: Undo move files by GUI?
Is there a way to undo this? Just move them back. The files are marked bold faced in the target for 5 minutes. So I guess when I drop off 55 files into a folder of 500 files, it's really easy to pick them out? Can you come over and do that on my computer every time that happens? I'm sure you can fl...

Undo move files by GUI? (solved)
I like to select a bunch of files by mouse, then copy or move them to a different folder. But sometimes I miss the prompt and accidentally press move instead of copy. Is there a way to undo this? I would imagine it would involve typing commands in the console. Although if there is a GUI method that ...

I looked at that info again, and let me state again that I am not looking to install Quirky frugally because it already is installed. There is indeed a button for a save file on Quirky 7, but it only allows saving to a CD or DVD. Is it possible to set up a virtual CD and do this? Also, I've been mes...

^hmm, so I guess I need to burn a CD to do that I was testing booting with loop mount the iso in grub2 but my version is EFI based and he did not complile in support of EFI boots so all I got was a black screen. Wish he would stop fighting the future and leave EFI support in. You absolutely do not n...

Is a frugal Quirky possible?
I am aware that this is meant as a full install, but is there a hack to allow a kind of save file, or register what programs were installed and somehow redo the installation? Otherwise it is possible to install frugally simply by putting the vmlinuz and initrd.q somewhere (in the case of Unicorn jus...

I have no problem installing any Puppy and don't care about EFI support because I use a different method: 1. install refit or refind 2. boot by USB and make a partition 3. install Ubuntu by USB CD on that partition 4. wipe all Ubuntu folders except boot 5. copy the Puppies onto the drive and modify ...

Maybe try the Windows program with Wine? If you're not sure you want this, just make a frugal save file with all this, and erase it if it doesn't work, or use it by itself with the save file. The mp3s should be in a folder somewhere (on Macs they are anyway). Isn't an iPod just an iPhone without the...

Search bar for Sea Monkey? {solved}
Maybe there's a way to add this, that I'm not aware of? Or perhaps a newer version that already has it?
I know it's available on the latest versions of Sea Monkey for proprietary OSes, also it's available in Firefox, but I want this in Sea Monkey in Puppy.
