Stupid question
If I have 3GB RAM, do I really need a swap partition? Currently I do not have one, would it be better if I did?
I am sure this is a REALLY stupid question, but i am rather new to Linux really, but I like it a LOT.

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your system
I had an issue not too long ago that caused me to have to reformat and re-install. I do not think that the drivers I included will help for any kind of card except a PCI express graphics card, and that is what I think your issue is, the drivers not being the correct ones for that card. I will keep a...

Broken IceWM
Ok, it seems I can get a lot of things working in puppy, but this one stumped me. I normally run with JWM, and I wanted to test out IceWM because it looks so much cooler, but I click on restart with IceWM, and POOF, my task bar is my cursor repeating backwards along the line, the menu is all scrambl...

EDIT: I forgot to mention, don't do this if you have an ATI card without finding the drivers for it first! And, if you have an Nvidia card, install the Nvidia drivers I included first, and reboot. Hello, I am going to try and help the people who can't figure out how to get games like Half life 2, Te...

Drivers for Nvidia 9 series found
After searching for a few days, I finally found drivers for my Nvidia 9400 GT that work. Most people probably have already found this, but in case you haven't, here: http://puppylinux.ca/tpp/NOP/NVIDIA-185.18.14-k2.6.25.16.pet and the MD5: http://puppylinux.ca/tpp/NOP/NVIDIA-185.18.14-k2.6.25.16_md5...

Thanks for the links, I will see what I can do with them. My goal is to be able to play Left 4 Dead with my friends on Linux, so that I at least have one cool multi-player game on my Linux. L4D is based off of Valve's Half-Life 2, which I have seen people get working in wine. I'm not sure how well I...

I really like Puppy Linux, it's my favorite distribution I have found so far, and I am getting annoyed with windows. I am also a gamer, so I have been trying to get my games to work on Puppy Li...
