How to use my Logitech f310 gamepad in Lucid 5.2.8?
I'm on lucid puppy 5.2.8 here, and I can't figure out for the life of me how to get this logitech f310 gamepad to work. Xev doesn't even realize it's there. I've tried doing modprobe usbhid and joydev, but qstick spits out an error telling me the argument to kbstick doesn't seem to be a joystick dev...

Dutchpuppy, I love you. Since I don't have fine enough solder here, I just heated the contacts with the soldering iron, and sort of melted them back in to the original solder. Probably not the best connection, but I got it to bark. I had no idea the sound circuit would be dependent on the headphone ...

I tried that, and no go. I pulled the motherboard, and the headphone jack is broken loose partially. I suspect what is happening is the headphone jack is shorted, so the computer thinks a pair of headphones is plugged in, and cuts sound to the main speakers. Maybe there is a way to set the OS to sti...

Compaq evo n610c (no sound)
Hi there. I recently dug out an old Compaq evo n610c laptop, and decided to install puppy on it. Everything seems to work fine, except the sound. I have tried 3 distros (lucid 5.2.8, wary 5.3, and racy 5.2.2), and the sound works on none of them. I have tried messing around with the alsamixer, and r...

Compaq evo n610c (no sound)
Hi there. I recently dug out an old Compaq evo n610c laptop, and decided to install puppy on it. Everything seems to work fine, except the sound. I have tried 2 distros (lucid, and racy), and the sound works on neither. I have tried messing around with the mixer, and running alsa, but had no luck. I...

No sound. Gateway MX7527.
Hi.
I'm trying to put lucid puppy 5.2.8 on this Gateway MX7527, and I'm getting no sound at all. The funny thing is, on first boot, I hear the bark sound play, but after that there is nothing. Any suggestions?

Can't configure touchpad.
Hi. I'm on Lucid 5.2.8. Basically, what is happening is, when I try to launch the mouse configuration program (Flsynclient), I get the error message "Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded?". I am aware this was a known issue in 5.1, but the same fix of running xorg...

Laptop volume control buttons.
Basically, I am looking for a way to make the volume control buttons on this Compaq V6000. I am running Lucid 5.2.8, which is using Beryl as a window manager. I already know the keycodes from running xev, but I can't manage to bind them. 160 is mute 174 is volume down 176 is volume up Thank you, any...

Ok, got it fixed again...for now.

It is a .pet of Broadcom's driver, as opposed to the back-engineered version, which has quite a few issues, from what I can gather. I just hope it sticks this time.

I've reinstalled the driver, tried a different network manager, reinstalled frisbee, and I actually tried yanking the card, cleaning the contacts with 91% alcohol, and reseating it. The driver reinstall worked once, but after a reboot it stopped working again. Just a fluke, I guess, since doing this...

Wireless issues...again
Running full install of lucid 5.2.8. The wireless card is a Broadcom BCM4311. Ok, I'll give a little background here. This laptop used to run w/7, and for reasons I don't want to get sidetracked explaining, it needed to be uninstalled. I can tell you though, the wireless worked perfectly, so there's...
