I think the best advice is that you should only use ndiswrapper as a last resort. If you can find a Linux driver (which in this case seems possible) then it is always best to do that. I once had a wireless USB adapter for which there is no Linux driver available and I was able to connect with ndiswr...

This machine I am testing on has 3 sound cards, 1 integrated 1 pci 1 usb Not sure if that is a factor, but I find that Menu>Multimedia>Alsa Mixer just flashes and aborts. Same happens in EasyPup. If I edit the alsamixer.desktop file from urxvt to sakura then alsamixer looks OK. Running urxvt on its ...

Running modinfo ath9k in Xenial32 indicates that the driver is not present. Not sure why. I suppose one option would be to swap the kernel. Incidentally, running modinfo ndiswrapper shows that there is no kernel module for this in either Xenial32 or Bionic32, so the windows driver would not work any...

I didn't think there was a Discord client as such available via PPM. What is the name of the program you installed, was it purple-discord ? If so, this is a plugin for Pidgin and you will need to also install pidgin_2.12.0 via PPM and then open Menu>Internet>Pidgin Internet Messenger Choose Discord ...

Depending on where you have installed the main seamonkey folder, eg /opt or /usr/lib or /mnt/home, Use the command apulse followed by the path to the executable, eg:- apulse /opt/seamonkey/seamonkey or apulse /mnt/home/seamonkey/seamonkey You can go on to put that in a script named seamonkey in /usr...

In Bionic64, the problem with the Linphone appimage is that the Qt5 5.9 libraries in /usr/lib are found in preference to the internal Qt5 5.12 libraries and the 5.9 libraries are too old. As a test, I moved all the Qt5 libraries from /usr/lib into the sub-directory /usr/lib/qt5 so they are no longer...

Soniabu, I think those system Qt5 libs are older versions than the ones needed by the Linphone appimage so they are not recognised. (5.9 and not 5.12) Usually the idea with an appimage I believe is that all the dependencies are included within it. I suspect that this appimage contains the needed Qt5...

Just did a quick test of the appimage in XenialPup64 Fresh boot with nothing added. This Linphone is working! There is some chatter in terminal but nothing fatal. Perhaps in Bionic64 you need to add some Qt5 libs (which were included in Xenial64 but not Bionic64) and then it would work? My Bionic64 ...

I have done a test build in Xenial64 in case you (or anyone) wants to TEST it. Included is libnice-0.1.16 and farstream-0.2.9 for Voice and Video support. Plugins for Discord and Hangouts compiled from source and included. I left the DEV headers in as these are needed for compiling of other plugins....

Just a couple of questions and a bit of information. Are you looking for a 32bit or 64bit Xenial build or both? Do you require voice and video support or just IM ? I have not tried anything in Xenial but did do a test build in Stretch the other day. Voice and video requires installing some extra dep...

Your system-wide PATH is defined in /etc/profile Have a look in that file. You will see that all the paths in PATH are listed with a colon separating them. One easy way of doing it is to add the path to your java executables to this list, making sure to also include the colon separator. Then reboot....
