It is a great distro isn't it.
Really like playing with new things and this has been a real time consumer for me too.

Re: I chose the wrong keyboard. How do I change it?
I selected the wrong keyboard layout on my first CD boot and now I get to the puppy desktop and can't do a thing with the mouse or keyboard. How do I clear the files or settings so I can start over. All else seems to be working ok. Which keyboard do I select for the standard US one. Thanks a bunch,...

First . Does the usb port work? If so can the bios be set to boot from it? Third, buy a usb floppy drive they are about 30.00 or you might find them for less if you get a deal. Now, Is XP formatted NTFS or Fat32? If it is Fat32 you are ok. If it is NTFS you will need to wipe your drive/reformat it ...

Re: Can HD Chubby Puppy run from RAM like CD Puppy?
I just installed Chubby Puppy to HD and everything went without trouble. Even Grub installed easily. Two questions. With everything on HD, is the ramdisk no longer used? Would it be possible to load everything into ram just as we do with CD? Since HD is faster than CD, the loading of ram would be f...

Puppy 1.0.4 is one step closer to 1.0.5 and to get to 1.0.5 we need to test out the changes that Barry has made, a lot of which are not obvious as they are under the skin. By testing and reporting on the forum we can improve Puppy and try to include the things that people are requesting. Ok :D then...

Did you try using the Set time/date in Control panel after you set the timezone. I do not have a set date time in my control panel. There is a set time zone. Or Xclock. Neither of which correct the problem. The other thing is that the command line solution only stays correct as long as I do not res...

Re: Yes, press 3 at boot time
Yes, it is the fact that Puppy saves files to partition1 (the one available) that's preventing Freedom from using /dev/hda1 for the Puppy install. So just reboot and press 3 at boot time to prevent Puppy from using the hard disk for saving "pup001". When the boot script asks later, do not...

Unable to set time/clock (Solved)
In Puppy 1.03 my clock is 1 hour slow. I have tried to change time zones but it does not make any changes to the time no matter what zone I select.
And Xclock just seems to be an anolog type display which is also 1 hour slow.
Is there a way to correct this?

Yes it is very nice. But it only works as is with upto Puppy 1.03 as 1.04 makes use of /dev/hda1 and you can not install it to that partition. Puppy 1.03 will work like this though. I installed 1.03 to a test drive this morning and it worked like a charm. 1.04 will not install this way without chang...
