Hi Mobeus, First off, thanks for posting your code and scripts. Also for the explanation of how the menus get assembled by gnome menus. I wasn't convinced it would make it easier to add a different panel so I tested it with jeyjs lxpanel pet. I took the pet apart and deleted all of the directory fil...

second they will understand that menu is too complicated and decide to follow standards like everyone else The sad part of this is that it's much simpler to use a standard xdg menu in puppy than the complicated mess it uses now. All of the menu editors edit the wrong files, fixmenus is way too comp...

This may be of interest for GTK+3 themes https://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/3.1/GtkCssProvider.html#GtkCssProvider-struct certain files will be read when GTK+ is initialized. First, the file $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/gtk-3.0/gtk.css is loaded if it exists. Then, GTK+ tries to load $HOME/.themes/theme-name/gtk-...

Hi Guys, Finally had time to install v1.2 last night. First experience is much better than v1.0. This one boots straight to the desktop with sound and networking, whereas v1.0 required video drivers to be installed to get X working on this old Compaq with on-board radeon 300G. The devx seems OK too....

desktop fails to load sometimes
I've been debating with myself on whether not to even mention this, because I'm not sure this isn't a firmware or hardware problem. But since there was a similar report on the Fatdog 6.20 beta thread, well here you go, just in case it's relevant. Once every 6 or so cold boots I fail to get a desktop...

@jamesbond Hey, no problem. This is a prototype , right? A couple more questions, if you don’t mind; I noticed that pmount from Fatdog is included, even though there is no mention of it that I have seen. Are there any other Puppy/Fatdog specific utilities in there like resize-save-file etc.? Lastly,...

Q5sys This is a significant contribution to the Puppy community to say the least. Slackbones is impressive. I was surprised by the 309 mb download until I saw that it includes 200 mb of 'extras' like the kernel source and devx along with the other add-ons. As it seems to have similarities to Fatdog ...

inoxidabile I think you will find that this is a hardware/kernel issue related to timing as suggested earlier. Several distros like FatDog have a wait boot parameter to allow the kernel time to discover attached devices like your usb/cd. One linux kernel param from the linux kernel documentation tha...

Did you access the router and add the desktop as a new wifi client?
Sorry if this is too obvious, but I often get bitten by the basics.
