Sadly the resulting .iso would not boot - got kernel panic.....
I get the same thing with X-slacko-4.4 and Slacko-6.9.9.9.

mistfire wrote:@rg66 does xfce compatible with gvfs-udisks-monitor? I hope there will be sfs version of xfce for tazpup
It seems to be as the drives are showing in thunar, although I haven't tried a falsh drive yet.

There might be an SFS or remaster down the road or nothing, we'll see how it goes.

mistfire wrote: @rg66 does the whole xfce package worked perfectly?
No, lots of broken things but it's usable. Used xfce pkgs from slitaz repo which are old. Will work on it in my spare time. What devx should be used?

do you intend to:
use full lz4 compression,

quick remaster as in debiandog,
to create sfs files to be loaded...?
To create SFS you need to install squashfs, lzo, lz4, lz4-lib and I installed xz as well.

Mistfire, can you make delta's please to keep the dl's small? Just add xdelta3 and .desktop from any current puppy, xdelta-gui is already there. Tested and working on TazPup.

TIA

To get sfs mount/load working as root just add: application/x-squashfs-image=filemnt.desktop to /usr/share/applications/defaults.list To get puppy icons working with faenza theme delete /usr/share/icons/SliTaz-Faenza/48x48/mimetypes/application-x-exacutable and rename application-x-generic to applic...

@rg66 I noticed that the files in /lib/keymaps in X-Slacko 4.4 and base.xml together with xorg.xml in /etc/X11/xkb/rules is missing. Luckily I fixed that on my pup Those are missing on slacko-6.3.2 as well as tahr, precise and carolina. They are present on slacko-6.9.9.9 and for once, the xfce keyb...

battleshooter and anyone else using Xfce (with gvfs), while playing around with slacko-6.9.9.9 I've discovered that /usr/lib/gio/modules/giomodule.cache should have a gvfs entry. According to the slackware install script, the commands /usr/bin/gio-querymodules /usr/lib/gio/modules and /usr/bin/glib-...

In your case, Puppy standard is the only full icon theme (which I personally don't like) so is the only one with mime icons. X-series and Carolina use the Saluki hicolor full icon set which is basically the gnome theme.

Thanks! Am a little confused on the 'icon_switcher' script. I downloaded it, removed the gz, chmod +x so its executable, stuck it in /usr/sbin, then opened Thunar and went to a folder (shown below) where it's not showing icons for something ( there's quit a few I am finding, for all different sorts...

Ya, I copied and pasted the same path, lol, glad you figured it out. For theme icons to show in thunar you need whatevericon24.png/svg so use the attached icon_switcher script and put in /usr/sbin (remove fake .gz). Also, for the icons to show in the right click app menu you need to remove icon exte...

Hi Battleshooter/rg66/Marv, Was wondering if any of you could help with an XFCE question. On Peebee's newly released ZestyPup-17.10-32bit-PAE, I installed XFCE. All went pretty good, of course had to fix some .desktop files again (rg66's menu.attachment in this thread helped greatly). But my main q...

Definitely my last one. Reverting back to "read -n 50 LINE" captures a lot more lines. #!/bin/bash [ ! -d "$1" ] && exit if [ "$(echo "$1" | wc -w)" -gt 1 ]; then yad --window-icon="application-x-squashfs-image" --title="Rename Folder&qu...
