I've uploaded a couple of sfs's to the repo. vlc-2.2.6-i486-1alien.sfs and wxHexEditor-0.23.sfs. Get them here: http://www.smokey01.com/rg66/X-slacko/sfs/ After a very long break, I am working on X-Slacko again. v4.3 should be out sometime in the not so distant future and will most likely be the las...

@Geoffrey and @rg66 can you modify the source code to non-hard coded name by reading on a text file and recompile into package? I don't think that's possible. It maybe, I'm looking into it, just need to learn how to program glib stuff, might take my a while though as I have a short attention span t...

Picked up a small problem with X slacko full install on a HP Elitebook 8440p with i5 and 2GB RAM. Every now and again, it will not shutdown. It drops down to the cli then just sits there with the log in screen. Tried going back into X then shutting down, does the same thing. Typing "shutdown&q...

That is an easy fix. Change /lib/udev/rules.d/60-cdrom_id.rules line 16 from:

IMPORT{program}="cdrom_id --lock-media $devnode"

to:
IMPORT{program}="cdrom_id $devnode"

This has already been implemented in X-slacko and X-Tahr. The choices are -0=never, 0=at shutdown, +0=ask at shutdown. There will be a save-session icon on the desktop and a Save Manager entry in menu > system to change the settings (just a tab from event manager). As gyro has stated, the mods are t...

Xfce uses /etc/xdg/menus/xfce-applications.menu or /usr/etc/xdg/menus/... for the menu categories. Puppy has a lot of "puppy only" categories which are not listed in the xfce-applications.menu so they will not be seem in the menu. I use a customized .menu which has the puppy categories add...

Peebee, I've had someone post that light-48.0 is playing youtube videos at a faster speed, I can confirm this on X-Slacko and X-Tahr. Is this the case with LxPup as well? I'm assuming it's html5 as no flash player is installed. Do you mean as in it's displaying the video and audio too fast? Or that...

Only one computer tested at this point. It's the all intel core 2 duo I referenced above. I pushbutton suspended and resumed running X-slacko 4.2, X-Tahr 2.0, LxPupSc 16.08.2, and LxPupTahr 15.12. All suspended and resumed ok in all cases. In X-Tahr 2.0 I tested with both a frisbee wireless connect...

Re: Post subject: X-Tahr-2.0 with Xfce

... One question. In the /usr/share/fonts directory there is as in previous versions a default directory with truetype and ttf directories in it and now a truetype directory and a ttf symlink directly under fonts. The Dejavu fonts are both in the ttf dir under default and in a Dejavu dir in the tru...
