Erm... sorry guys... It seems that my mic was defective, not my computer or recording software.
I tried a spare mic and it worked, although with static.
My bad.

Microphone amplification (SOLVED)
My microphone records, and it works, but the sound is soooo soft. Looking for a way to increase mic capture volume.

Sorry, I was busy for quite a while. Your answers are very helpful! (Although I have tried BrowserLinux and Wary.) I didn't know there was the ability to remove builtin packages, so I'll try that out.

Dual booting is simply two operating systems on computer. Doesn't have to be two operating systems at the same time, and it doesn't have to be on the same partition.
