Semme....thanks for the suggestion, but there's no joy here in Mudville. seems to me that it's something related to Wary with Opera 12.02. i did a frugal install of Lupu 5.28 with the same cast of characters and they all play together just fine, so it looks like my choice of Puppy versions is being ...

opera 12.02.sfs and java/flash

long time no play here: is there a known issue here with java/flash and opera? just resuscitated a discarded XP machine, p4 w/ 256mb memory. machines a tad slow and is short on peripherals -- 18gb HD, plain cd player, 1 usb -- but the needs are simple, mostly internet and writing. chose a frugal ins...

Jackie.....i've had this happen to me. you have to cancel the print job from a console window.

iirc, the command was as simple as: cancel "print job name"

to get the print job names type lpstat -o

hope this helps

best to ya,

ugm, i have a laptop using LitePup 2.14 with 64mb -- ThinkPad 560x -- that's been setup fairly close to what you describe. right now i'm outside, listening to an old Little Feat concert via Opera 9.02 w/ flash. i've also installed Ghostview, GParted, Gxine and GAIM. the first two work fine, but thou...

what worked for me was to put a copy of wmvdmod.dll from XP in /usr/lib/win32. i'm having no problems using gxine in Opera 9.0.

Puppy 2.10, relatively vanilla. i don't remember adding codecs (tho i might have.)

tempestuous, i used the Network wizard to load the acx driver. now on boot it sees the card, but still fails to get an IP address. nor does it find the network upon testing wlan0. i'm at a loss as to what i do next. is there something simple i'm missing? that's usually the case. seems it's the easy ...

no sound with gxine -- TP 560x

P-233mhz, 64mb RAM, 128mb swap. PupLite 2.14 (same conditions hold true for Puppy 2.14) soundcard is loaded and works. i just went to http://www.archive.org/details/lf1973-07-19.flacf and listened to a live Little Feat concert. but when i download a .wmv file from http://www.crooksandliars.com -- bt...

DLink DWL-120+ -- inconsistent and 'non'persistent

Puppy 2.14, Pentium Celeron 2.4g mhz, 128mb, no swap, running off the live CD. the drivers are from the DLink site -- had to download version 1.01 instead of 1.02, because where the former came zipped, the latter came as a single setup file. used ndiswrapper on the /XP/tiacxusb.inf file to make the ...

gxine -- mixed bag

on a TP 560x -- Pentium MMX-233mhz w/ 64ram -- that has been configured for wireless and sound, using Loadlin to load the Litepup, i have successfully installed and loaded opera 9.02_STATIC_ QT, gxine 0.5.9, and the xine_extra_codecs, but the results have been mixed. i can either get audio with .mov...

thanks,

it's a 4G hd, partitioned into 2 drives of 2g. both have approximately 500mb free.

the ram @ 64mb is basically topped out. this is a no money reclamation. LOL!

does Puppy not load in RAM when loading via loadlin?

swapfile vs swap partition, poorman install vs frugal

Thinkpad 560x, P-233 w/64 mb Ram, no cd. currently running Puppy 2.10 via loadlin. the notebook in this equation is my mother's. its got a workable win95 w/ wireless. Opera, Mozilla, Abiword, etc, as well a healthy dose of games, puzzles, and the such. quite functional, but, outside of the game coll...
