i don't know if this is of any help, but... ati.pet seems to work when i do a fresh install, run ati.pet, restart x(ctrl alt backspace/xwin), run SKIP_CHECKS=yes compiz manager. everything comes up as it should with everything appearing normally. i then edit my /etc/.xinitrc to get autostart of comp...

is there a gconf-editor for puppy?
ubuntu gave me a gconf-editor that i could use to dictate the size, timing, and various other attributes of my panel. is there something like that for puppy? is there file i can manually edit to make my panel completely hidden? right now, hide panel still shows a tiny part of the panel.

tombh, bear with me, these are dumb questions... the ati.pet file should be installed instead of the ati driver from amd? it should be installed at what was my step 3? also, you said that the ati.pet was updated, so i can get it from the original post where you first introduced your ati.pet? i'll se...

puppy linux security?
i understand that puppy linux is secure because it's run from a cd (non-writeable). that said, i have chosen to run a "liveusb" instead of "livecd". i also make use of the pup_save file. does that mean i am vulnerable to viruses and security issues because i'm using writeable med...
