I've tried several Search queries & so far nothing re. Brave & either pulseaudio or systemd have shown up.

When I get some time I'll have to try the Brave user forum & ask there.

Thanks ...

Fedora 25 Alpha w/Kernel 4.8 sounds promising:

Is there a Puppy spinoff of Fedora that leverages the good & strips-out the bloat (including privacy-invading elements)?

Thanks for fixing the URL! I can run Linux Mint from a USB stick. At least one user has wifi working - but that was after wiping the HDD and loading to it. Another user has the touchscreen mostly working - some glitch causes it not to respond every several boots - he and a couple of others are chasi...

Puppy on Cherry-Trail tablet

Anyone working on a Puppy for the neat Chuwi Hi12 or other Cherry-Trail tablet? From what I'm reading it may be best to target Kernel 4.8 as it's supposed to include support. The Chuwi Hi12 comes loaded with Android & MS win10 - I'd guess one would want to not disturb those installs - for versat...

Have you considered a tablet with an outboard keyboard/cover? http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_350502.html Someone is porting Linux Mint to that tablet - probably can be adapted to Puppy. I don't know if there's an equal laptop for $255. (the Chuwi Hi12 plus keyboard/cover) Our son is a fan of ...

@edoc -- try some of the newer LxPups. I don't use 'em but my understanding is that peebee keeps fairly new kit in there -- glibc and kernels and all -- so that would be your best chance at success outside of development-issue XenialPup. X-Tahr (which is TahrPup 602 with XFCE) and TahrPup 605 /migh...

@edoc I'm confused now, are you hoping to use a Nexus 5 which is an ARM based device or another X86 device? The target device was/is the Chuwi Hi12 tablet. It uses the Atom architecture. You had mentioned BarryK's work but that turned out to be ARM for his Nexus 5. So we're back to Atom and Linux M...

Buried in a thread about a logo ... arghhh!

Is the Nexus 5 an Atom device?

I seem to recall it runs Snapdragon & is ARM compatible or something.

WDYT?

Thanks Pete!

I just looked around & came up empty.

I did spot his reference in 2015 to a "cross-developer's Quirky"

An OS designed to build apps for Android, iOS, Linux, & MS versions of windows

Looked as thought it dead-ended.

FatDogARM is the only currently-developed Pup for ARM processors. The others have all been abandoned. rcrsn51 just pointed out that the Chuwi Hi12 is an Atom device not ARM. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=911984#911984 Oooops! You know, when starhawk referred me to FatdogARM I didn't even put the two together!

ooops!

So, which Puppy do you think is most likely to match what they are doing with Linux Mint on those tablets?

Thanks!

Are y'all aware of this Linux Arm activity?

http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/linu ... s/page/12/

Perhaps some of the effort may be common & shared?

I'm looking at getting a Chuwi Hi12 & would love to run a FatdogARM vs Mint on it.

Is Devuan (Debian fork) still in woof-CE?

I spotted this on HitHub:
"mavrothal merged commit 92fe1c3 into puppylinux-woof-CE:testing on Apr 19, 2015"

Does this mean that Devuan compatibility is built into woof-CE?

What about Devuan Jessie?

It's the non-SystemD fork of Debian Jessie.
