I'm booting 2.14 this way, what error are you getting.
In reading the posts in this thread, I think there is some confusion. I believe the confusion is because some people may be trying it on XP.

The problem with XP and the How To is that XP is likely to be an NTFS partition, if so, it can't be booted in a REAL DOS mode.

Over a year ago someone, (maybe Mark or Nathan, I don't remember) posted an excellent how to boot Puppy in XP using GRUB for DOS

The OT was on using isolinux on a fat partition, I use grldr on NTFS.

Should I stay or should I go? :-) I know I'll stay but be silent, you seem like a nice bunch of people :-)

ho hum ....

not very good at being silent...... :-)

I, too maintained the Off Topic discussion by conversing with HairyWill about grldr under NTFS, rather than loadlin under FAT32. Sorry.

Anyway, to answer pmshah I am creating another thread in this HowTo section here:

I don't like messing with partitions so I used John Doe's suggestion. I didn't realise that the choice is only offered when there is more than one pupsave! Nice, when you realise it.

PS The web wizard to which HairyWill refers can be found at:

Written for Puppy 2.12 at this moment, but easy to update for 2.13 - I will probably update this coming weekend.
I didn't realize it either.Thanks.
