How to change video jump time in Gnome Mplayer?

When playing an audio or video file in Gnome Mplayer, you can skip forwards/backwards 10 seconds by using the right/left cursor keys. I'd like to change this so that it skips 2 seconds instead of 10. There isn't any way to do this from the Preferences menu, and I was wondering if there might be any configuration file where this can be done.
