Can I remaster Puppy without a CD Writer?

#1 Post by sullysat »

I'm running Puppy on a laptop that has a standard CD drive, but no capability to write. When I get it all tweaked the way I want it, can I remaster to the HD or perhaps a USB drive rather than the CD?

I'm really enjoying learning about Linux and specifically Puppy and looking forward to spending more time with all of you.

Thanks,

Yes, just skip the CD burning procedure, or choose (in Dougal's script) only the creation of pup_xxx.sfs (xxx = version number).
Puppy user since Oct 2004. Want FreeOffice? Get the sfs (English only).

Thanks Raffy, I'll do that when I get it all set up. Right now its all good except gxine... I deleted something important when I got rid of Seamonkey.

Having a great time though!

I guess you did, because I think there were some dependencies there.
