The PC I'm working on is a cash register terminal built by Ultimate Technology Corporation. The touch screen says "Reliatouch" on it.
I want to get the touch screen working in Linux, but I'm not even sure where to start.
I am in the process of installing 4.3.1 on a Pentium MMX w/ 128MB RAM computer. This computer is a purpose built terminal for a Point Of Sale (POS) system. The screen is an 800x600 LCD with a touch screen. One of the 2 units has Win98 installed and the touch screen works (the other unit's drive is faulty and doesn't boot).
To install Puppy I had to open the box up (connect a CDROM). The touch screen has 5 wires connected to a daughter board that drives a floppy connector, cash drawer connectors, etc. The touchscreen is branded Reliatouch, however their website is still back in the 90's. I'm trying to contact them as well for information.
Touchscreen (Reliatouch?)
I powered up the second unit - Windows 98. The touch screen driver is the UPDD from Touch-Base. Linux notes on installation are here. I have not fully read them just yet - hopefully there is a link in there to source &/| binaries.

Possibly getting closer. This page has the linuxupdd.tgz file I'm looking for.
http://www.glaxytouch.com/download.html
Downloading it now. Might not have time tonight to try and install.

Touchscreen is a TPI Serial device communicating COM4. Sent UPDD a setup file from Win98. No response yet (just sent it today).
What distro would Puppy be closest too? http://www.touch-base.com/documentation ... mNotes.htm

Possibly Slackware, but it would depend how you measure the closeness... why exactly do you ask - do they provide different packages for different distros?
Do you know a good gtkdialog program? Please post a link here

Many Slackware packages work straight in Puppy.
try Slackpup

Dpup is closer to Debian if you wish to use their packages
for your project

Hope that is helpful
So do many Debian packages and many Fedora packages, etc...Many Slackware packages work straight in Puppy.
