lol, i have picked up the [unfortunate?] habit of uninvited participation in similar public conversations as well as their cell phone cousins
usually sotto voce but sometimes i forget and go normal . . .

@cthisbear:
Something must be wrong with your English to Aussie translator. Or are you the one in Sylvander's example that never listens, but just keeps talking?
I am not asking for more rules. I am asking for the ones that are unwritten but acted upon to be identified and clarified.
I am asking for said rules be applied fairly and consistently to all.
I am asking for no hate talk.
I am sorry to disagree with you but "relaxed" does not equate to rude, obscene, abusive, hateful, and namecalling.
And for the record, I could care less about your age or rough edges. We've all got age and we've all got rough edges. It doesn't excuse you a bit.

I once witnessed a disgruntled customer venting to a clerk in an ice cream store. I got in line behind him after he'd been going on for a while, so I never heard what made him mad. Finally, he demanded that the girl behind the counter, "call me a taxi." So I said, "Okay....you're a taxi!"
I figured the girl would at least crack a smile, but both of them just stared at me for a moment and then went back to their conversation.
The moral of that story is, you just can't predict how people will react when you butt in.

Bugman needs to get a new jokebook. His innuendoes are littered all over the forums, some actually rather blatant.

I also know how easy it is to be transparent and the importance of that to keep the general population happy. People want explanations and they like to know their boundaries. People want to know they aren't being singled out for censure if it happens. People want to know what is going on. Saves everyone's energies for the reasons they are in the forums in the first place.
I stand by my comment. It is a responsibility, even if it is a volunteer "job", and part of that responsibility is accountability to the people you "serve".
I never belittled the job of moderator or administrator. There is a LOT of busywork, chasing around idiots, you name it.

Shariebeth,
You could wiggle out of the rule above like this.
Chris, I love you, but the way I'm feeling right now (then hit him with all you've got)

1. Funny, but...
There are certain people...
When I see they have posted...
I make sure to go read what they've posted...
No matter what the topic.
And usually I'm not disappointed.

Bugman is one of those mentioned above.
Don't mind his innuendo's one little bit.
I think I understood the concept he was conveying.

I hope that is not true.
How does one protect against such?

You having these personal experiences then I get why you are so upset about Puppy forum.
The moderation standard on this forum does not live up to you expectations.
You want it to improve to a standard you can approve of. That is what I read into what you say in this thread and in others on the forum.
As I get it the Admin and Mods on this forum does not want to be on that level of detailed Moderation.
I can sure see merit in what you suggest. But it is the Admins on this forum that set the standard. You can have wishes but them decide.
That is it! That is the way it is here. It only change when the Admin have the motivation for it to change.
I rather prefer their current level than what you write here.
I base that on your saying this: "chasing around idiots"
In your eyes I am most likely one of the idiots that you would chase around.

And I am presenting my case why I feel, in my opinion, they should consider it. You don't have to keep saying it's their decision. We KNOW that. This thread is presenting a case with a proposal and request for discussion, for a bit of a change, namely clarification, consistency with what is already done, and transparency.
I see no request or suggestion for anything more, other than to please eliminate the hate talk (which I can't imagine you would object to).

I can be annoyed with you, or disagree with you, without wanting you gone or considering you an idiot. And really, I'm only annoyed when you harp on the adhd and when you helped derail a topic I considered serious and important, and WhoDo considered serious and important.
You have a lot of good and useful things to say, you are active, you are helpful, and you represent a very real section of users. You don't have to put yourself down all the time or make excuses. Just tone down the sheer volume of times you say that. In my opinion. (thank you artifus)
