Macpup 525
I did a frugal install of macpup525 by mounting the iso and copying
the files to a macpup525 folder then running grub4dos + editing the
macpup525 entry in the menu.lst file to pfix=nox, ram
Rebooting in macpup and choosing vesa 1024x768 + xwin then changing
the timezone and restart x.
Then ctrl-alt-backspace + reboot and create savefile in the process.
Rebooted into another pup and edited the macpup entry to pfix=fsck
Reboot again into macpup and loaded devx + kernel source sfs then
downloaded the xorg_high driver in quickpet.
Another reboot and then ctrl-alt-backspace to get to the prompt.
Installed the ati-driver-installer-11-5-x86.x86_64.run proprietary
driver and entered aticonfig --initial and then xwin to get back to
the desktop.
Tue 14 Jun 2011 Operating System: macpup-525 Linux 2.6.33.2
0.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Device 68d9
oem: ATI ATOMBIOS product: REDWOOD 01.00
X Server: Xorg Driver: vesa
X.Org version: 1.7.6
dimensions: 1920x1080 pixels (507x285 millimeters)
depth of root window: 24 planes
direct rendering: Yes
server glx vendor string: ATI
server glx version string: 1.4
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Radeon HD 5570
OpenGL version string: 4.1.10750 Compatibility Profile Context
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 810 Processor
Core 0: 2593 1: 2593 2: 2593 3: 2593 MHz
...the above also recorded at '/tmp/root/report-video-glx'.
# glxgears
38989 frames in 5.0 seconds
39810 frames in 5.0 seconds
39823 frames in 5.0 seconds
I do it this way or the pc will lockup when trying to reboot, same
thing with other pups on this pc.

Yeah I tried running vlc from a terminal earlier and it didn't say anything.
I then installed vlc 1.1.7 and that seems to work ok.
If I run Songbird from a terminal I get nothing.

We tested Quickpet a lot. Without issue. It just downloads the .pets. The install script is the same for PPM or just clicking on a .pet.
Good day again... Saturday should be great.

Still in the top 10. We will start settling back down around 60 .We have been very successful at DW .Macpup has stayed on the top 100 "last 7 days" chart for almost two years straight.
I found this today.Another way to set up a usb install. But works from within windose and uses FAT32. Could be cool.

A little issue here..
Those reviews were a good read..
Macpup 525 has had a good run at DW too, but tapers off with the page hits once the editorial has fallen off the bottom of the page.
I'm posting from this puppy now runtt, and really like it, but i'm puzzled as to why some modules are not visible anywhere, regardless of which E theme i use, so that's eliminated as a possible cause....see screenie attached.
This is on a Dell Latitude D620, btw, not the Mac desktop
I can provide specs if you want them.

Hello russoodle
I think i can answer this one for you.
Right click somewhere on the shelf (i used the top edge), and select Contents
Then, in the window that appears, select whatever 'Gadget' you want
and click on the Add Gadget button.
Hope this helps
