Hi people,
Ok, this is certainly an oversight dating from way back when. it may
concern you or not.
If you don't have seamonkey on board, defaultcontact launches nothing.
Nowadays, very few Puppies have seamonkey on board.
So here's a replacement. It checks if you have seamonkey:
if you do, it lauches the contacts manager of the "shrimp" browser.
if not, it launches notecase with a PIM template.
I decided on the notecase template alternative because it seems that you
can't tell osmo to launch directly in its contacts panel. (I'll be glad to be
proven wrong, but I couldn't find any indication of how to do it in the web.)
Other possibility: the BORG Calendar, a PIM written by Michael Berger in java.
I discovered this while working on the default programs aemenu.
Enjoy.

Would you mean, Musher0, that would replace SeaMonkey address booK ? Any idea to link sea Monkey with OSMO, which has been quite always available as default in our Puppy Linux since ...
which seamonkey
# If the Puppy doesn't have seamonkey on board, we have to use something else.
[ $? = 0 ] && exec mozaddressbook "$@" || notecase /root/my-documents/contacts-$Lang.ncd &
# Examples of alternatives if you don't like notecase.*
# [ $? = 0 ] && exec mozaddressbook "$@" || osmo
# [ $? = 0 ] && exec mozaddressbook "$@" || BORG
#
# -=> Simply remark ("#") the line with notecase and
# remove the "#" in front of the line you wish to use.
*notecase is not so familiar to me as Osmo.
I am running Opera as browser, do you think it will fit too with it ? Import contacts from Opera exists in the menu, but pushes Opera to the exit. I will try your pet with Seamonkey. No need to try more with Opera, damned browser for a fluent and quick surf on the web.

Osmo is yet the default contact
If the Puppy doesn't have seamonkey on board, we have to use something else.
Osmo is always available in Puppy Linux because it's the easier and greater contact tool
Osmo makes seamonkey address book useless
and other address books too.
