Hi all,
Just to let you know that there's a version of flowblade video editor which appears to function under Vividpup. Only slightly tested.

Oops. Sorry, I am talking below about 666philb's previous publication of
the vividpud "that he was thinking of going big with"... Which runs fine on
my machine, but that initial vividpup is a 32-bit.
And "he did go big with this one", didn't he ?
Again, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Hello, pa_mcclamrock.
It will, since vividPup runs on this 8-year old AMD, which is
less powerful than yours:
Bye for now.

That sounds good. I hope it also has the "remove builtin packages" utility so I can create a main file with less than 400 MB! (Hint: in the final version of vividpup, maybe some built-ins could be optional add-ons instead? Isn't Puppy still supposed to be a small distro?)

tahrpup = regular
vividpup = large
i intend to keep vividpup big .... but may add the extras as an adrive.sfs.
libreoffice & gimp are the biggies and just removing them will slim it quite a lot

No kidding! Both of those are still readily available as separate SFS's, right? How about letting those who want them load them, and cutting them out of the main file for those who don't? (Me, I use Gimp, but I haven't liked LibreOffice much since it choked when I started to create a big document with many full-page images. TextMaker 2010 did the same job with no choking.)666philb wrote:libreoffice & gimp are the biggies and just removing them will slim it quite a lot

there is a stripped version azami has made http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=99448
as for this version, i wanted it to be an everything and the Out house sink type of puppy, but for the next build i may put all the apps in a separate adrive.sfs. the iso will still be big but people could swap in their own adrive.sfs with their preferred apps. (in fact if anything the next iso will be even bigger )
this is the puppy i carry around on my phone, so i can plug the phone into a comp, boot it (using drive_droid) and have everything i need without having to install extra stuff.
