It's only about 35MB smaller than Slacko 6.x, removed 70 programs by default, including:

rufwoof released a PupBarebone system on Oct 23, 2015.

puppy sfs is contained within initrd so you just need the two files vmlinuz and initrd

Quite a biggie initrd at around 264MB uncompressed (compressed around 77MB).

To boot : eg grub4dos menu.lst entry:
title fast_remaster_pup
kernel (hd0,2)/pups/frm/vmlinuz pfix=ram,nocopy
initrd (hd0,2)/pups/frm/initrd

Rather than using savefiles, if you boot, make desired changes and then click the 'remaster' icon on the desktop that will create new copies of vmlinuz and initrd in the home directory (/root). You can change the content of INITRD_LOCATION file in /root to point to another directory where the new vmlinuz and initrd are created - such as where grub4dos looks to boot.

No ISO's or CD required for the remastering, its all integral.

more information:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... &start=105

download files (initrd 264 mb and vmlinuz 2.7 mb):

ISO has puppy sfs inserted into initrd
a get_latest_firefox script in the home directory (/root) that will download/run the latest version of firefox from mozilla
a few addon's under /root so once downloaded that firefox will have NoScript, Zoom, have the default search engine set to DuckDuck (lite) and have downloads set to automatically prompt for where to save files to

a couple of bookmarks, one to that download folder and another to this thread/board.

I found a collection of barebones Puppies in a forum "BareBones Puppies & BABYies" posted by jrb dated Jan 19, 2013.

On the first posting, there are 6 links to these puppies:

barebones431-jrb1.0.iso - 65MB
precise-5.4.3-barebones-0.2.iso - 115MB
racy-5.3-BABYbarebones.iso - 68MB
wary-5.3-barebones.iso - 83MB
wary-5.3-BABYbarebones.iso - 66MB
wary-5.3-BABYbarebonesXvesa.iso - 61MB

here is the link to that forum:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=83841

racy-5.3-BABYbarebones.iso is 68MB done using BK's babybuild and XZ compression.

wary-5.3-BABYbarebones.iso is done using the babybuilder in woof. This removed 17MB of drivers and modules and final size is 66MB.

wary-5.3-BABYbarebonesXvesa.iso. has the Xvesa video driver but it boots right to desktop, no fooling around with the Xorgwizard.

included:
a few right click options
edit-sfs
untar pet
sfs-load
run_in_terminal
dir2pet
dir2sfsdir2tgz

leafpad is the default texteditor (a smaller less dependent one from Puppy4)

two icons to the right of the menu button on the jwmtray (restart and shutdown)
modified PPM so that packages downloaded will store in /root/Downloaded_Packages

there is also a link inside that forum to over 20 barebones puppies posted by ally:
https://archive.org/download/PuppyLinux_barebones

I have made these Chinese language pets for 4 of the 6 barebones:
precise-5.4.3-barebones-0.2
racy-5.3-BABYbarebones
wary-5.3-barebones
wary-5.3-BABYbarebones

1. half-Chinese language pets:
enable you to display and input Chinese language under the above barebones

a. fcitx input platform:

with 23 Chinese input methods( for more details, please see post dated Jan 19, 2015)

2. Chinese language pets (require the prior installation of an half-Chinese language pet, item a or b above):

wary-5.3bbb-zhcn-11.0.0.pet (1.9 mb) for wary 5.3 baby barebones

d. Traditional Chinese:

RSH (Rainer Steffen Hain) released LazY Puppy 2.0.2 Final Build 0.0.5 on Jan 20, 2013

LazY Puppy means: Lazarus Yet in Puppy. Small and smart - using the Best out of both Worlds, use SFS files and PortableApps

Almost no need to install any application. You can turn every .pet into an .sfs, convert the SFS to LazY Puppy Format and then create run-scripts out of the unmounted/unloaded SFS. It saves related icon automatically (if found) at the same directory, and sets automatically an icon to the run-script. Click the run-script and run the application (SFS is loaded automatically).
