RSH much appreciated I will check it out when you have uploaded it then.mcewanw wrote:When you already have timidity installed on your system you can use xhippo audio/video player to control the midi playing (stop, start, pause etc):

Currently, /usr/local/etc/xhippo.config has the following entry it uses to recognise midi file extension and play with timidity. You could modify that to contain extra parameters as and when required. If you post the best parameters to use I'll upload the change in the next dotpet release for xhippo:
Code: Select all
type:mid:timidity
Need MIDI player for Puppy Lupu 528-005 [Solved]

RSH what Semme told us worked for me so no need for a new sfs
unless you feel for to have it that way in your repos.
Semme this run code made a decent volume for me?
timidity -igt --volume=400 --drum-power=100
So much appreciated that you suggested it to me.
So now I only lack the ability to change from Piano
to Violin or Sax. Guys I am a lucky man now.
You should see the happy grin on my face.

If you can live with solution by Semme, it would be nice. I was not successful with the timidity_wrapper. The volume was successfully transmitted, but somehow the script loses the transmitted file, so timidity started without to load and play a file, when clicking a .mid file. Can't find any solution.
Maybe I'll give it a try (much) later again...
