My current desktop.
Get the wallpaper here.
Openbox as always, with Onyx-Black theme.
I fell in love with these KDE transparent icons, they're my favourite.
The GTK theme is Slickness Muppy Black.
The cursor theme is Obsidian.
Lxpanel has an individual black 3D background.
To change ROX-Filer toolbar icons I used nilsonmorales' ROX icon changer.

vicmz I love your visuals. I especially like the muted 'limited palette' of this theme. Have you thought about releasing a full iso that contains such a theme? I would love a version of Upup3.9.9.2 that looks like this!

Actually I've been thinking of it, I've been reading a few tutorials on how to remaster Puppy and set Openbox as default window manager. Configuring my desktop and programs is fun, but at times I just want to boot and start using them. I especially set fonts to make them comfortable to my eyes, and I love dark themes for they're more eye-friendly too. If I happen to release a puppy of my own, however, I'd set light-coloured themes, since it's what most people feel comfortable with. Even if I'm the only one who wants it I'd simply do a separate, dark-themed ISO though. :D

Classy.

I had a period when I mostly used dark themes, I still prefer having dark desktop wallpaper but don't use dark gtk themes much anymore, most of them don't usually get along with all apps.

Here's the lightweight one that I made to resemble slickness black and don't need any extra engines.

In search of a theme for OB Puppy that doesn't cause gtk issues

This is meant to be closer to the original theme, but now Lxpanel combines with GreyFX icons.

Very nice - is there a way to make the system tray at the bottom a darkish shade of grey too, instead of black?

I have to edit the GTK theme --not only it gives that color to the panel but also to the window buttons, a PNG background would easily give a grey gradient to the panel but window buttons would remain darker.

Thanks! :D glad you like it. It's even sorta open source because I told how I did what I did.

Well, mostly. Icons in XFCE go in /usr/share/icons/[name of icon theme], so you unpack the IIRC *.tar.bz2 to wherever and copy the resulting directory (containing icons and a theme file) into /usr/share/icons and you're good to go.

A pity that there aren't many orange/grey/black themes for GNOME2/MATE/XFCE/etc :( I really like them and the all-too-common blue/black and blue/silver themes don't work here. I'm more a warm-colors person I guess... I really hope the future isn't all blue ;)

My Puppy is more gorgeous than yours!
