The settings are saved in /root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/ROX-Filer/Options

Is this file not copied when remastering?

Hi woodenshoe-wi,
There is an interesting discussion about implementing a progress bar for single file / directory copying.
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=115467

Seems a progress bar already exists for multiple file / directory copying.

Thanks for the continued developement of ROX Filer

.

Nice Fabrice, is Rsync (ftpish like) secure? Just wondering if that might be overegging the pudding so to speak. Rox is at the heart of root/puppy.

SFR uses a progress meter in his Packit app, integrated, not sure how that works but very good.
Just musing here, I am not that well up on it.

I thought it was built in into the latest Puppies by default (UExtract also).

At least from Tahr and up I've seen it and used it also from Rox right-click menu on a directory (to squash sfs modules).

Ah ok, it's not a progress bar, it's hscale widget, here only to show that program he's in action (moves quickly from left to right)

But hscale could be used instead .svg picture in my script.

Hi woodenshoe, I have a suggestion but it seems very odd for rox filer. Is it possible to add xdg support for rox filer for file association as well as real desktop support?

Another visual fix. I'm still experimenting with custom ROX "lite"
while I think it should work on other versions of ROX-Filer just as well.

In menu.c ( total 2x, in *menu_from_dir and add_sendto ) change:
gtk_menu_item_new();
to:
gtk_separator_menu_item_new();

In appmenu.c do the same thing ( total 1x, in appmenu_add ) .
___

That should fix strange-looking menu separators in filer and desktop menus.
Those appear for example with Adwaita and alike gtk2 themes that use
wide-separators, separator-width, separator-height, etc. theme parameters.
Also a different xthickness and ythickness of widgets.

In pcmanfm, nemo, or newer file manager, at list view, if we resize the window, it can resize the name column. But in rox filer, it resize the last (the most right) column, in my case is the Last Modified column. It is very good if rox filer have behavior like the newer file manager. Is it possible?

Thank you.

Thank you Jun7,
I download your rox filer from your github here:
https://github.com/jun7/rox-filer
and try to build it. Just click the AppRun or ROXFiler folder.
Now in list mode, the resize window is based on the name.. Thank you very much.
My problem is in the icon view, the background is not white
And the drive icons seems not same as usual puppy does.
How to fix it?

Thank you.

When using ROX for "copy"

What is the proper Usage of "Newer" option
versus
What is the proper Usage of "Ignore Older" option

The "Newer" option will overwrite an existing file in the destination without prompting if the file you are copying is newer, and the "Ignore Older" option will skip copying files that are older than an existing destination file without asking if you want to overwrite it.

Both of these options will only apply to the remaining files in the group you are copying, you will still have to choose what to do with the file that brought up the copy dialogue.

If you want to change the default settings of these options, they can be found in the "Action windows" section of the Options dialogue.

Thanks.
In our mind, "Newer" and "Older" seem to do the same thing.
In fact, why would I not choose "both" ?
So, we will do some testing between both, and then examine the results.

"woodenshoe-wi" is an imaginative name.

Thanks for the post.

I made some testings on the new FossaPup64.
This has a Rox filer installed without all that great new additions.
It even won't merge directories automated anymore.
On each directory I have to hit Enter or clicking Ok.
Even the Still option activated doesn't change this behavior.
This is just like the older Rox filers like they were in Lucid Puppy.
