Hybrid usb boot

#1 Post by ozsouth »

I was sick of having 2 usb sticks, one to boot uefi & another to boot non-uefi, so I made a hybrid stick. I know the non-uefi can be used if you select boot media (F9 on many systems), but I wanted automatic if usb boot was set in bios.
It IS fiddly & use at own risk - uses gparted so MUST CAREFULLY SELECT CORRECT DRIVE. IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS.

With no usb or SD cards plugged in, need to boot a puppy version from CD or Hard Drive & on that make a folder called /pupusb ,
copy attached usbhybridboot.tar.gz file into it, then in terminal cd /pupusb & expand (tar -zxvf usbhybridboot.tar.gz).
Howto, bootstrap, & needed files (requiring some edits) inside.
