Just wondering is that the package I posted 2 days ago on here? If so, maybe say thanks, lol, because it was a real pain to package up.eztuxer wrote:New feature:

WOOF, WOOF!
EZ - TERRIFIC! Very excited to see this come out, i've been wanting a good music Linux and your timing happened to be perfect--i just received a sturdy old HP laptop (hand-me-down from oldest daughter to second daughter and finally to me!) I've been wanting to finally switch to Linux for scoring, plus thinking about experimenting with live synthesis by running my cheap keyboard thru a laptop with its sound fonts...it looks like it's here and it's PUPPY!
Now, i've just done a full install and haven't yet given it a full workout, but the support looks top-notch. This is so good; i hope this really takes off. Let me know if bandwidth problems continue, i may be able to mirror.
I am looking forward to this. Thank you, thank you!!

Thanks for friendly and positive report Subito Piano.
And thank you for the mirroring offer.
At the moment, download bandwidth seems OK with 5 sources, but I'll be glad to add your mirror as a 6th one, as some are sometimes over the monthly limit, and others sometimes slow.
I hope to see you on the forum http://pupitup.phpbb3now.com/, to bring more animation there, and hopefully team up in corroborative on line music production.
I play the flute, and start to get around on the guitar, so I'm looking for keyboard, drum, base, guitar, violin, players and singers (good looking females), to share the fun of music making.
As far as taking off, a glance at a Google search shows about 10 pages of links, some in strange alphabet like Ciryllic(Russian), Arabic, and Chinese.
Some folks made good reviews of it and even demo video.
You'll love the great sounds a cheap keyboard (like my $ 350,00 PSR 203-E Yamaha) can generate via Qsynth and a good sound founts library.
Pupitup does not intent to rival with larger music distros, like Ubuntu Studio, or Musix, but it's a lot faster and more stable because it's a Puppy.
Woof woof !

Yeah lessee - i'm a piano guy, trumpet, guitar, some sax, and a little of most everything else (music teacher/band director/choral director/worship team leader). I've arranged a lot for whatever we have on hand at church, for small ensembles, for horns and rhythm section, and to accompany the choir. For instance, instead of using some accompaniment track for a Christmas cantata, i'd either write some parts out or if we had a score, i'd have to adapt things for the instruments we can get. So far i've used Music Time Deluxe -- written for Windoze 3.1! -- but i've had trouble using it on XP and with wine. I might have success with the right version of wine, idk. Been doing Linux for maybe 5 years now, the last 3-4 i don't even have Redmond on my main box. Oh yeah, and i'm the computer teacher/lab man/IT guy at our little Christian school. The labs PCs all dual-boot and some teachers are now using Linux exclusively.
The more i use Windoze, the more i love Linux...
I'll see you on the forum once i get into using it. Gotta grab me some fonts (didn't see any included) and get moving!
Praise the Lord, for all those gifts.
This AAO netbook is the first computer I could buy without winblow$ forced pre-installed on it.
I use Bill Gate$ crap about twice a month to do some PC banking, for some awful reason, my on line bank only works with Internet Exploder.
XP & 98 are on my old laptop sharing the HDD with Mandriva & pupitup.
My other 3 PC are winbug$ free.(make that 4 with the G4 Mac).
I love your animated gif.
I didn't include sound fonts, as good ones are quite heavy files, and it would fatten and slow the puppy, my sound founts are on another partition of the same USB stick, with the music files produced by the softs also quite large.
Main pupitup partiton is 2 GB, the rest is on 6 GB or 14 GB (I have an 8GB and a 16 GB one).
Sound founts download link:
http://pupitup.phpbb3now.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=41
Once you start using Muse Score & LMMS you won't miss Music Time Deluxe.
Catch you on the forum, I need a good praise music scores & TABS source...

Hello eztuxer,
See: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=41455
And tell me what you think of the Idea, and if you mind I include Pupitup...
Thanks...
BTW, As a Guitarist / Songwriter I love and use Pupitup, and have replaced "Musix" as my Audio O.S. with it.. It just works better...Although, Musix is really good...
I think these "specialized" Pups are the way to go..hence my inclusion of it...
Hope it is OK...
...Jay...

Sure it's OK, pupitup is itself based on parent puplet Fatpup.
Heck, this is GPL Linux licence, you can use it as you please without restrictions (even if some authors bitch about it).
And all our puplets are based on official puppies, which are based on Linux, it's all a big family affair...
From your avatar I presume you play guitar, right ?
Don't miss out on the pupitup forum :

Question - as per your suggestion, i went to ttuuxxx's musician pups page and am downloading zynaddsubfx for PupItUp. What other pets from that page should we add to our PupItUp install? Will they be put in the pupitup software repository at pupitup.org?
Thanks!
Thanks!
ZynAddSubFX has been added to http://puppylinux.asia/members/pupitup/ ... usic_soft/
along with OpenSong and Firefox.
I'm working at updating this page:
http://pupitup.org/extra_software.html
And concerning your question, I intend to get Ardour running someday, as for the softs on the beginning of that post most are too old, or are already implemented.
There are tons of audio soft under Linux, and some will be considered and adopted, it just takes time to build and test them to check if there is no incompatibilities (libraries), as for Amule (if installed, Audacity and other must run softs are not functioning anymore), so it's touchy.

OK - so basically you are hoping to keep a list of "recommended" packages (or links to them) at the PupItUp page, and that's the first place to start looking. Sounds good to me. (Don't get me wrong, i;m not exactly a newbie here; but like you said, some of the packages listed there were redundant or worse, outdated.)
Again, much obliged.

I should have tried this before !
I found a good workaround for the lack of support for the memory cards slots on my AAO.
I just use my external "Targus" card reader, which gives me an additional 3 USB ports.
It's easier and faster than using the USB cable and my camera, or rebooting on Linpus.
Nothing to install, works fine out of the box.

Hi Jay !
Sorry, this free forum really sucks, impossible to register new members on it, and I cant even register on the support forum. (same problem).
I must transfer this forum on the website @ http://pupitup.org/forum or http://forum.pupitup.org/ something.
I must find out how to install PHPBB on it (learning curve), and try to wget & transfer it, or start anew from scratch.
I might need to upgrade my hosting service accordingly and get Mysql up and running. (learning curve again).
I've question my host sometime ago, but they didn't answer, I'll get back at them...
I'll look into doing this when possible.
In the meantime if you have questions or some report, you can post it here.
Yves
