Glad you got it to work.
Remember you have the choice of a "frugal" installation rather than a full hard disk install and with puppy the frugal option is normally the best one. But you probably already know that

VLC 2.0.5 direct from ubuntu universe repository installs and runs directly with Puppy Package Manager on Precise 5.4.3. Make sure you get all the dependencies as well though! I ran through the install twice because I missed some first time. (There are lots and lots). Didn't even have to patch to ru...

Ok Just installed psip32 1.3 on Lucid Puppy 5.2-update1 (yes I'll get round to upgrading to latest 5.2.8 some time). Gave it my sipgate details and it seems to work with a couple of problems. 1) If I enter a proxy sipgate.co.uk as sipgate recommend then the login never completes and hangs for ever. ...

Re: great except for no sound
My only gripe is that resolving sound issues is a PITA, especially if you have the intel hd integrated sound.. Is this a known problem? I've booted Lucid 5.2 on a variety of laptops/notebooks including Eee PCs (mostly belonging to friends as a demo) and always had sound. I seem to recall some had t...

Been using Lupu 5.2 (with update 1) since it came out and have tested 5.26RC on multiseesion DVD - seems fine. Wondering whether to try a frugal upgrade of my 5.2 config. Can someone tell me what exactly a frugal upgrade of the personal save file does? Does it just change a version number or does it...

sunds pretty easy. If that's all there is to it, that will be sweet indeed. Edit: I guess I'm getting to be an old fart. I can remember now having to do this with Vista, but I distinctly recall that it involved using EasyBDC too for some reason. Thanks, --97T-- That would be if you want/need to cha...

GRUB4DOS is just a variant of Grub designed to be chained from the Windows Bootloader. If you already have Windows then Grub Boot (and hence Puppy Boot) becomes an option from Windows standard startup (can even be the default boot). Far less chance of screwing up Windows boot with grub4dos and less ...

Using puppy 525 and firefox 5. I had moonlight on different distros and older firefoxes; always rather bad, interrupting, croaking, often crashing/freezing the browser. Moreover, Dutch media are using different Silverlight versions which I saw no Moonlight solution for so far. No luck at all with M...
