??? Is there a bug in latest pfind???
I got this strange warning message. First I launched pfind
in Exprimo 5x5. Then directly after the launch I clicked the close button
in upper right. (See image)
I believe that the developper pemasu had just upgraded pfind
because of gktdialog

Hi don570
Will you please show me the terminal output. I don't think this is a big thing..... does Pfind work as expected else of this?

to Zigbert
It works perfectly otherwise.
Just when I launch and then close without using the application.
Exprimo 5x5 uses Enlightenment to launch apps from
a 'Shelf'. That may be the problem. ...but other
apps work fine.
I will investigate further tonite. It's a holiday weekend here.

bug in pfind |
|
pfind version 4.2.2 is listed in script
I should have clicked on the advanced button
in the window
I would have seen this
| Code: |
Error Information:
An exit code of 1 was returned from pfind.
Output Data:
There was no output
Error Logs:
There was no error message
|
Here's the terminal output when I launch with the terminal
and then close by clicking the upper right close button.
.... but it gives the same terminal output when it has done a
file search.
Note: Radky is careful about how he ends his scripts.
He uses not only the usual 'exit 0' but some sort of unset command
He's quite experienced with the different window managers.

pfilesearchMIMErc is supposed to be a part of the pet package.
It should be in /usr/local/pfilesearch/ and copied to $HOME/.pfilesearch at first run.

If we are speaking of Dpup Exprimo 5.X.5, it uses Pfilesearch 1.25 pet and it has that spoken file included and also copied to the root, at least in my savefile.
I have got samekind warnings in e17 also with other applications. I have left them to the e17 quirks. But maybe there is some common nominator. I will keep my eye on those warnings.

<WindowStyle> drives Pfind crazy. |
|
One person from Russian Puppy forum have entered in Pfind search box the line:
and Pfind went crazy after that. Only deleting /root/.pfind helps. And he says that in Puppy-420 it doesn't happen but it happens in all latest puppies.

Thank you for the bugreport
You will also need to update pfilesearch to get it all working.

With regards to pfind 422 in Exprimo....
I was tinkering about in pfind and to my amazement
I changed an 'exit' to 'exit 0' (around line 482)
and I can now click the upper close box without
the warning showing.
I just did the change with one line of code.
Warning: I haven't checked with other window managers!

Hi again.
There are a couple of minor bugs in "sort by extension".
1) If a filename has a trailing space before the extension, it disappears from the search results, and if pfind was started from a terminal there is a message there, e.g. after searching in ./ and using "sort by extension" I see this:
| Code: | | find: ./98 Thirst/04 Father Of Lights.wma: No such file or directory |
The filename is actually | Code: | | 04 Father Of Lights .wma |
2) (this one might be some sort of bash vs busybox issue or something, as it doesn't happen on one of my machines)
Files or folders without a "." character in their name disappear from the results, and there is a message in the terminal, e.g. after searching in ./ and using "sort by extension" I see this:
| Code: | find: ./98 Thirst.98 Thirst: No such file or directory
find: ./NewFile.NewFile: No such file or directory |
There is a directory called "98 Thirst" and a file called "NewFile" in ./
