Hi ttuuxxx, a quick test of your latest streamtuner-ripper worked a treat, with recordings (if allowed) straight into the music folder. Should be in the main build, it's the sort of app joe public want.
BTW don't forget a .desktop file for partview

ttuuxxx I found your mupdf-2009-07-07.pet and as I have a load of pdf files I tried it on 214X15. Running it from the CLI I get mupdf [-d password] [-z zoom] [-p pagenumber] file.pdf but making a desktop file I get nada. I though this was a gui based super fast opener of pdf files. Am I mistaken? H...

Hi ttuuxxx, with partview maybe you had rogue .gif files in /tmp. Running partview first before Installing clarf's new ppmtogif creates .gif files in /tmp which have to be deleted first before it will work. Something for Dave, to remove the double entries in gxine go to /usr/lib/xine/plugins/ & ...

Hi Dave, I don't know if you've tried it but here's the original countdown timer which I suggested ttuuxxx remove, mainly because it had never worked from day 1. When it does it has to be permanantely on display (right click top of window & layer, top), if there was a working sound option (refer...

Hello again Dave, point 1 Got you now, missing keymaps &/or symlinks in /lib/keymaps for other layouts causing the 30 second delay. I believe MHHP posted about this but got no response. point 2 see pic The original keyboard wizard comes with this change/add option, MHHP's tinkering lost it, his ...

6. As I said before I really like your SuperSwitcher. A very useful feature. However if it's necessary to kill an app then the superswitcher is no more and a restart of the xserver is necessary to start it back again. Unfortunatley I have had to kill several apps in 214X so it's not something that ...

5. OlddogNewtricks suggests adding MHHP's keyboard mod MHHP's fix needed for the keyboard wizard (Advanced Xorg button). i.e. /usr/local/apps/XkbConfigurationManager/XkbLayoutConfig line 35 change to: if [ "$CHANGE" = "" ];then # MHHP this puts back the change/add layout option....

Hi ttuuxxx, Full install worked perfect. Refresh Menu needs to be clicked to show CD/DVD Ripping/Tools icon. MHHP's fix needed for the keyboard wizard (Advanced Xorg button). i.e. /usr/local/apps/XkbConfigurationManager/XkbLayoutConfig line 35 change to: if [ "$CHANGE" = "" ];the...

Yes. So are you saying that you have cups auto-starting after a re-boot? Dave No Dave, I never use it (no linux friendly printers) It was just that it sounded like you made a lot of changes before you tried just adding the missing symlink. My misunderstanding. It seems like your the only one testin...

In my pup2.17, /etc/rc.d/init.d is just a symlink to /etc/init.d so maybe all thats needed is the missing symlink
Yes I've already done that as I mentioned above.
Thanks anyway
Dave
Ah, but did you try it before making all those changes.

Hi ttuuxxx, a full install with usb keyboard, flash drive etc. all pluged in now works by adding these 2 lines to /etc/rc.d/rc.modules at line 135 modprobe usbkbd modprobe usb-storage The extra modprobe lines added to /root/.xinitrc as a work around can now be deleted. Hi Dave, concerning cups. In m...

Hi ttuuxxx, I reported that superswitcher only woked with the live cd, I found that in my pupsave the keyboard was set to UK with the first button option. Use the 2nd(xorg) button &
it works fine. Iv'e re-edited the first post.

Hi clarf, some simple tests on your new initrd.gz all passed O.K. :) Frugal, full install & rebuilt CD all booted fine. Created a small 128 pupsave on an ntfs partition, then increased by 256 then 512. Put 2 SFS files alongside to test the bootmanager, booted one then both together. The testing ...

Hi ttuuxxx, just got round to trying out your superswitcher. That's a handy little app. If you've got a load of windows open it's so easy to scroll through them to find the one you want. The only moan is that the 'top window' text is in white & is impossible to read. If you could lose the redund...

Hi Dave, this might interest you. I think we've agreed that if you add a new partition an entry is made in etc/fstab & a new drive icon appears on the desktop after restarting X. However if you delete a partition the entry isn't removed & the drive icon remains. Iv'e noticed there's an empty...

Hi MHHP, creating a gb.gz symlink to uk.gz in /lib/keymaps as you suggested fixed the 30 second wait after creating a pupsave. With button 2(xorg) the add/change selection window has disappeared (tray button selection only) so an X restart always defaults to US. Ok, the results of last nights very-...

I could boot into an full install (ext3 partition) with a PS2 keyboard but not with a USB keyboard & now I know why. I had a USB wireless adapter connected. I swaped the adapter for a USB flash drive with the same result. So if you have a USB keyboard remove all USB gadgets before the first boot...

Hi ttuuxxx, I do prefer it with an icon, which of course you can edit to change. also do you think sweep should be with soxgui etc. on the menu. There's a nice little app in /usr/local/apps called set-as background. Drag any image onto it and it sets the background. Better still this makes a great r...
