Topic: Ted vs Abiword: which is better?
Replies: 37

I used Ted eons ago, before Windows. Kinda curious to see its growth. Does Ted handle links/hypertext? It is this failure in AbiWord that turned me off. For a long time, I use Leafpad for simple text, Composer for everyday documents - HTML and LibreOffice for 'serious' documents required by WinPeople.

Hello Zigbert I haven't given pMusic much of a run as yet, but 2 short comments: 1. I know you are a lover of dark themes and I am not. In fact I detest them. Is there any way for this theme to be changed to do my eyes a favour? 2. I suspect that pMusic does not process a filename containing quotes....

RickGT351 I see that this thread is marked solved, but thought I'd add my 2 cents, anyway. Someone else who is not averse to installing seamonkey or has it installed but wants Composer may find it useful. You could: 1. install Seamonkey (any version; I have 2.48 on tahr-6.0.6 and 2.49 on upupbb). 2...

plinej got egg on my face all over. :oops: 1. gtkdialog not installed. 2. missed that it is related only to YT playlist . I don't usually need the static images masquerading as videos in most playlists. Other tools allow me to d/l the audio only, then I can select individual cuts to save. Thanks for...

@stemsee Harassment? Stalking? What the hell are you talking about? Are you losing it man? I don't remember ever posting anything to you/any thread of yours before today. I made a mistake attributing a pet to you. You responded that it wasn't your program. I initially apologized for my error then d...

rockedge I have been experiencing the freeze with upupbb (32 bit) too. I saw a recommendation on another thread to use xrefresh , but it hasn't worked for me. I use Shift-Alt-Backspace which takes a while to clear to the black screen. xwin kills all open apps but Firefox returns with all tabs intac...

@Linuminator
Have you tried to change the device boot order in the BIOS? Either F1 or F2 or ?? I think should get you there.
You may also want to set Legacy boot in the BIOS. If you do, remember to press F12 when you reboot. Choose appropriately from the menu.

You may want to try testdisk for your file and disk recovery. Your file names and hierarchy will be intact.

Hello all This is rather long, but stay with me. Takeaways: /etc/init.d is where scripts invoking services to be run at startup are placed. /root/Startup is where user scripts to be executed at bootup after X has loaded are placed. In some puppies*, viz Precise 571, Lucid 5287, and Racy 5.5 (Walsh) ...
